Unforgettable Summer: Why Renting a Villa with a Pool in Northern Israel Was Our Family’s Best Vacation Decision
This summer, our family decided to forgo the usual crowded hotels for a private villa with a pool in Northern Israel. The serenity of the region’s landscapes and the luxury of a secluded retreat made this the best vacation decision we could have made. From morning swims to evening barbecues, each day felt like a dream. Renting a villa allowed us to create lasting memories, surrounded by nature and local culture.
When we first started planning our vacation, the idea of renting a villa with a pool was incredibly appealing. Away from crowded hotels, a private villa offered the kind of tranquility we longed for. Waking up to peaceful surroundings, we could enjoy uninterrupted family time by the pool. The flexibility to structure our days however we wanted—whether it was lounging by the pool, having spontaneous barbecues, or taking night swims gave us a sense of freedom that hotels in Israel couldn’t offer.
The privacy and exclusivity of a Luxury Villas were key draws. Unlike hotel pools shared with other guests, our villa’s pool was for our use alone. This allowed us to enjoy family moments at our own pace and without distraction.
Northern Israel is known for its breathtaking landscapes, history, and culture—making it an ideal vacation destination. The region features diverse landscapes, from the rolling hills of Galilee to the majestic Golan Heights, offering endless outdoor adventures.
A key highlight was the Sea of Galilee, which offered both relaxation and water sports. The region also features numerous nature reserves, like the Banias Nature Reserve, where hiking trails lead to spectacular waterfalls. The area is rich in culture and history, too. The city of Safed, famous for its artistic and Kabbalistic traditions, and Beit She’an’s Roman ruins were fascinating to explore, providing enriching experiences for the entire family.

Villa rentals offer several advantages over traditional hotel stays, especially for families. First, the space—villas tend to have much more room than hotel rooms, with multiple bedrooms and spacious living areas. This extra space was a huge bonus, particularly for our children, who had room to play and relax.
Villas are also more convenient. Equipped kitchens allowed us to cook our own meals, saving money and adding a sense of home. The villa’s modern amenities, such as WiFi, laundry facilities, and entertainment options, made our stay even more comfortable. Additionally, the privacy of a villa allowed us to have meaningful family time, without having to share spaces with other guests, as would happen in a hotel.
Upon arriving at the villa, we immediately felt at home. The beautiful blend of modern luxury and rustic charm made the property feel welcoming. The spacious living areas were comfortable, and the bedrooms, each with stunning views, offered the perfect retreat.
The private pool was a highlight, offering a relaxing spot for the entire family. With pool toys for the kids and a shaded pergola, we spent hours enjoying the water, soaking up the sun, and simply being together. Additionally, the villa featured a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor barbecue area, which allowed us to prepare meals and enjoy family cookouts. We also made use of the entertainment options, including a large flat screen TV and a gaming console, keeping everyone entertained in the evenings.

Northern Israel is full of family friendly activities. One memorable day was spent at the Hula Valley Nature Reserve, where we observed migratory birds and explored the beautiful landscape. The kids loved spotting the various species, and the guided tours provided great insights into local wildlife.
For a dose of adventure, we visited the Golan Heights for a jeep tour. The rugged terrain and stunning views made for an unforgettable experience, and our guide shared fascinating stories about the area’s history.
A trip to the ancient city of Acre (Akko) was another highlight. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Acre offered a glimpse into history with its Crusader fortresses, Ottoman era buildings, and vibrant markets. The kids were particularly captivated by the stories of knights and traders who once inhabited the city.

The culinary experience in Northern Israel was nothing short of extraordinary. We immersed ourselves in the region’s diverse food culture, from Middle Eastern staples to modern twists on traditional dishes. We started by visiting a local market, where the fresh produce, spices, and baked goods offered a sensory feast. We picked up ingredients to cook our own meals, enjoying the experience of preparing food in the villa’s kitchen.
Dining out was equally memorable. A family owned restaurant in the Galilee treated us to a mezze feast—a spread of hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, and stuffed grape leaves. The flavors were incredible, and the warm hospitality made the meal even more special.
We also participated in a cooking class with a local chef. The class took place in a charming kitchen with picturesque views, where we learned to prepare several traditional dishes. The experience deepened our appreciation for the local cuisine and gave us new recipes to try at home.
When choosing a villa for your family vacation, consider the location, size, and amenities. Northern Israel offers a range of settings, from coastal retreats to mountain hideaways. The location should align with your family’s preferences for relaxation and exploration.
Make sure the villa has enough space to accommodate everyone comfortably. Look for properties with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces. Additionally, consider the amenities that matter most to you—such as a private pool, a fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor spaces like gardens or terraces.
Don’t forget to read reviews and do your research. Guest reviews can offer valuable insights into the villa’s condition and the host’s levelof service. It’s also a good idea to communicate with the host directly to clarify any questions you may have before booking.
