Hazeva Field School is situated in the pith of the Arava desert, approximately 150 km north of Eilat and adjacent to the Jordanian border. Hazeva Field School offers desert hikes and special bird watching tours at sunrise and sunset. Nearby, at the Developing Research Institute, desert agricultural research focuses on what can be grown in the desert and how; visitors are invited to view the greenhouse.

Making a difference -- Hazeva Field School conducts research studies in the area, led by Dr. Amotz Zehavi (one of SPNI’s founders), focusing on the Arabian Babbler, its communicational and social structures and behavior. Hazeva Field School campaigns to protect the Arabian Babbler, nocturnal desert wildlife and Acacia trees which once flourished in the region.
