A few words on Ein Kinya:
The ancient Druze village (from the 1400s ) Ein Kinya neighbors the Golan Heights and is situated on a mountain with the most breathtaking view.
Kinya means “Cypress tree”, however the village has mainly Whistle trees that are shaped like Cypress Trees. It has been said that Ein Kinya was given its name due to the large amounts of water which ran through and around the area.
This scenic village is also very close to the Hermon Mountains and above the river Sahar, at a height of 750 meters above sea level.
The village is also one of the four Druze villages in the Golan Heights (others are: Mijdal Shamas, Bukata and Misada). The Druze population in the Golan Heights reaches 20,000 and they make up half of the population of the Golan Heights. The Ein Kinya village is the smallest (2000 residents) and is the most fascinating for tourists.
